What Is Reiki and How Does It Work?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing technique that helps restore balance on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.


Originating in Japan in the early 20th century, Reiki translates to “universal life energy” and is based on the idea that an unseen life force flows through all living beings.


When this energy is low or blocked, we’re more likely to feel stressed, anxious, or ill.


During a Reiki session, a trained practitioner channels this healing energy by placing their hands lightly on or just above the recipient’s body.


The energy flows where it’s needed, clearing blockages and promoting relaxation.


Some people feel warmth, tingling, or a gentle pulsing sensation. Others simply feel calm and grounded.


Reiki doesn’t interfere with medical treatments; instead, it complements them.


It’s used in hospitals and wellness centers around the world to support recovery, ease emotional stress, and enhance overall well-being.
