From Numbness to Noticing
One Woman's Journey Through MS, Awakening & Hope
Sometimes, life has to fall apart for us to remember who we truly are.
What if the hardest chapter of your life wasn't the end of your story, but the beginning of something beautiful?
At just 27 years old, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
I remember feeling as though the life I'd imagined had been taken away from me. I was frightened, overwhelmed and uncertain about what my future would hold.
For years, I lived with fear, anxiety, fatigue and a growing sense that I'd somehow lost the person I used to be.
But somewhere along the way, something began to change.
I started to realise that although I couldn't always control what was happening around me, I could begin to change how I responded to it.
And slowly, through Reiki, meditation, RTT®, self-discovery and learning to truly listen to myself, I began finding my way back.
Not to the person I used to be.
But to someone I hadn't yet discovered.
And that is how From Numbness to Noticing was born.
This isn't just a book about Multiple Sclerosis...
It's a book about hope.
About fear and finding courage.
About losing yourself and learning to love yourself again.
About those moments when life feels unbearably difficult, when you're exhausted from holding everything together and wondering whether you'll ever feel like yourself again.
And most importantly, it's about discovering that even when life doesn't turn out the way you imagined, it can still be beautiful.
Through my own personal experiences, I share the lessons I've learnt, the moments that changed my perspective and the practices that helped me reconnect with my body, mind and spirit.
It's raw, honest, emotional and, at times, a little funny. Because even in our darkest moments, there can still be something to smile about!
My hope is that somewhere within these pages, you'll recognise a little piece of yourself.
Is this book for you?
I wrote this book for you if...
-
You've been diagnosed with MS or another chronic illness and feel frightened about your future.
-
You're struggling with anxiety, exhaustion or a loss of confidence.
-
You feel disconnected from yourself and wonder where the old you has gone.
-
You're curious about Reiki, meditation and the connection between your mind and body.
-
You're navigating a difficult chapter of your life and desperately need a little hope.
-
You're ready to start putting yourself first and rediscovering what makes you feel alive.
You don't have to have MS to connect with my story.
You don't even have to be spiritual.
You just have to be human.
Because we've all experienced moments when life has knocked us off our feet.
And sometimes, all we need is to hear someone else's story to remind us that we're not alone.
What you'll discover inside
Within the pages of From Numbness to Noticing, I share:
-
My honest experience of receiving an MS diagnosis at 27 and the emotional journey that followed.
-
How fear, anxiety and limiting beliefs shaped the way I saw myself and my future.
-
The role Reiki, meditation and RTT® have played in my personal wellbeing journey.
-
How learning to listen to my body helped me develop a different relationship with myself.
-
The importance of boundaries, self-love and reconnecting with what truly matters.
-
Why I believe even the most difficult experiences can teach us something about ourselves.
-
This isn't a medical guide or a promise of a cure.
It's simply my story, shared openly and from the heart, in the hope that it might help you find a little light in your own.
A little message from me to you 💚
If I could sit down with the 27-year-old version of myself today, I'd take her hand and tell her something I wish she'd known back then.
Your story isn't over.
There is still so much life waiting for you.
There are still beautiful moments to experience, people to meet, dreams to follow and parts of yourself you've yet to discover.
I can't promise that life will always be easy.
But I do believe that even in our most difficult moments, there can be hope.
And if my story helps just one person feel less alone, then writing this book will have been worth every tear.
You are so much more than your diagnosis.
Never stop noticing. ❤️
