Have You Been Surviving for So Long That You've Forgotten What Living Feels Like?

There was a time in my life when I genuinely believed that constantly pushing through was something to be proud of.
As a nurse, being busy was normal. Looking after everyone else came naturally. Even after I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at just 27 years old, I carried on wearing my "I'm fine" smile while quietly feeling frightened underneath.
If you've ever found yourself saying "I'm fine" while your body is crying out for rest, you're not alone.
For years, I lived in what I now understand was survival mode. My nervous system was always on high alert. I didn't know how to slow down without feeling guilty. Rest felt lazy. Asking for help felt like failure.
Everything began to change when I discovered Reiki. For the first time in years, I experienced moments of genuine calm. That led me to meditation, which taught me that peace isn't about having an empty mind but about meeting ourselves with kindness.
Later, Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) helped me uncover subconscious beliefs that had kept me stuck in patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing.
None of these therapies changed me overnight.
They gently helped me come home to myself.
If you're feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or disconnected from who you are, perhaps your body isn't letting you down. Perhaps it's asking you to listen.
This is exactly why I now support women through Reiki, RTT®, meditation and, more recently, intuitive tarot.
Each offers a different doorway, but they all lead toward the same destination: reconnecting with yourself.
While I was writing my now published book, From Numbness to Noticing, I kept coming back to one simple truth: healing isn't about becoming someone new.
It's about remembering who you've always been beneath the stress, fear and expectations.
So today, instead of asking yourself, "How can I get more done?" try asking, "What do I need?"
Sometimes that one gentle question changes everything.
